Our Start

StrataSpec was founded in 2024 with a simple question: 

"How might we design a new hamster playground that is easy to clean and inspires joy?"

That project led to hundreds of failed prints, unreliable materials, and a crash course in design tools and production. Through that process, we built the skills and systems to do it right. We realized we could use that experience to help others do the same.

Who We Are

StrataSpec is a design-led 3D printing studio in Minneapolis focused on accessible, reliable prototyping and small-batch production. With experience designing and producing dozens of functional SKUs, including our own product line Habitat Homies, we help creators, startups, and small businesses turn ideas into manufacturable products. 

Where We Work

We operate out of a growing studio in Minneapolis, equipped with dedicated 3D printing environments optimized for consistent, small-batch production. We’re currently expanding our workspace and will be sharing photos soon.
